Time flies.
In exactly 2 weeks, Amaury, Francois and me will take our plane to Montreal.
We just had the confirmation on monday for the exact departure date : March 29th at 09:40 a.m. Charles de Gaulle Airport in Paris. The university also confirmed the scholarship. At least finances won’t be a big problem.

It’s difficult for me to imagine that in about 1 week, life as a student will be another page that I’ll have to turn.
Ok, I’m won’t be considered as a game developper yet, but still. Nice schedules, long vacations, etc… soon will be over.
On the other hand, I’ll finally see how professionals from this industry work, and hope to learn a lot from them.

Definitely, in a few weeks something big is going to happen. But before, there are 3 presentations to finish

…that’s about how much time I still have to spend in Angouleme. After 1 year and a half in the french city of the comic books, I’ll fly away from France, again, to do my internship.
So what’s next ?? Canada. A 6-months internship in Montreal more precisely.
The company ?? One of the biggest publisher and developper in the video game industry, that’s all I can say about it
I’m really excited about this opportunity. It’s a good occasion for me to see how AAA titles are made but also to refine my knowledges in Game Design. I’m even more excited as I won’t leave France alone. Amaury and Francois, 2 programmers from the ENJMIN will take part in this adventure.
Almost everything is ready before leaving, except the fact that we still have an appartment to find. If anybody from Montreal read this post and has any clue in how to find a cheap 6 1/2 or 7 1/2, you know who’s going to be happy… ^^
Anyway, as I did for my previous trip, 3 years ago in Japan, I’ll use this blog to post my impressions on the city and everything important there(well, maybe not neccessarly). So stay tuned
But before, we have a pre-production to finish. The game we are working on is nammed Tibilibidum (not yet decided if we will keep the name). It’s a game in which the player has the ability to control the orientation of the gravity. Yusam, the main character, will have to use this skill in what will be a puzzle / adventure game and find it’s way in the strange city of Tibilibidum.

More details before March 29th, the day of the departure.

Design your very own game and try to sell it to a publisher. That’s what GameGame propose you to do. Leave your console for a while and try it, if you and your friends are creative i bet you’ll like it.

Long time not seen !!
The second semester has finally started so it means that after one semester of theory we will finally start creating our very own games.
What’s the objective? During the next 4 months in a team of 4 people maximum we will have to create a very simple game that can be understood in 5mn maximum. So exit the very complicated concepts etc… that will be for next year’s pre-production ^^.
What are we going to make ? Actually I cannot say much for the moment as the concept is not yet completely done but as a summary I will say that you’ll play Lily, a little girl who’s goal is to help a giant to cross her city without creating too much damages. Here are some artworks created by FLOW one of the 2 graphists of the team. DEV and me will take care of the programmation sound and game design but don’t worry, presentations will probably be for a future post.

Actually not. Here is a game i wanted to introduce you. It’s the kind of experience that brings fresh air in your room, the type of game that i really appreciate. Take a few minutes to walk throught he website. It’s very intersting if you are the kind of person that doesn’t know much about game development. There’s not a lot of details, but still, you can still have an idea of the amount of job behind this type of project. Now forget your problems and let yourself floating through the clouds…

As it has been mentioned in this article, I also wanted to use today’s post to introduce you with this website. There you can find many Flash games. It proves that very interesting things can be done with very simple concepts. Try Starry Night, it’s my favourite one.

Yeah I know, it sounds a bit lazy using a WordPress Type weblog, but I’ve checked all the possibilities on the internet and it seems to be the best for me.
I still don’t know what I’m gonna talk about in those pages but, I’ll try to make it as interesting as possible.
